If you're looking to mix up your home décor with something a little bit outside the traditional cabinet box set, check out the amazing Wave cabinet from NYC-based, Chilean designer Sebastian Errazuriz. This revolutionary design will change the way you think about interior decoration and furniture functionality.

Wave combines aesthetic with functionality, showing how pieces of furniture can simultaneously be beautiful and serve a purpose. This is a stunning piece of art, but you can also totally use it to store your shoes.

Errazuriz, an "an artist, designer, and activist" with an MFA from New York University, describes on his website how the cabinet works:

The Wave cabinet opens with true delicacy and beauty; each individual slat pulls along the following much like a paper fan. With multiple configurations which allow for various options of aperture, the artist has re-engineered the familiar process of opening and closing, into rotating and undulating adaptations.

Aw, it makes a heart!

Talking about the inspiration behind this innovative piece of furniture, Errazuriz states, "I love the idea of creating beautiful furniture; nevertheless I am much more interested in using the medium as an excuse to trigger people's curiosity and create a connection with them."

Trigger people's curiosity it certainly does. I've watched the video so many times and I'm still trying to figure it out.

Errazuriz is constantly coming up with new ways to incorporate fine art techniques into functional furniture design, so make sure to follow him on Facebook,Twitter, and Instagram to see some of his upcoming work.
